We understand as BASIC Pre-Certification, the preliminary tests that a CPE should perform to guarantee that it fulfills with the most basic TR-069 requirements. Passing these tests means that it is ready to implement more advanced TR-069 functionalities according to the Operator particular needs. A CPE that has passed BASIC Pre-Certification tests accomplishes the minimum requirements before being tested thoroughly. These BASIC tests can be made in a dBm propietary scenario with dBm069-BASIC.
dBm-069-BASIC is the most elementary tools of the dBm069 family. They have been designed with the aim to perform a preliminary test plan to a CPE and let it ready to pass any exam where a Service Provider asks for some minimum TR-069 requirements . It will avoid a CPE to be rejected at the first steps of a Service Provider selection.
dBm-069-BASIC is intended for modem and router manufacturers as well as OEM suppliers. It provides its own internal ACS completely TR-069 conformant . Therefore it gives the possibility to check the basics of the TR-069 functioning of a CPE without the need of accessing a commercial ACS.
Testing a CPE with dBm-069-BASIC does not guarantee that the CPE will also pass a final certification, since although it checks correct implementation of the TR-069 RPC methods, it does not perform any functional test of the device when it is configured through TR-069. It is just a preliminary test tool.
